What Is the Science Behind Straight Tear BOPA Film?
How is "Straight Tear" technology different from a normal nylon sachet?
How is "Straight Tear" technology different from a normal nylon sachet? Nylon is known for its strength and is very difficult to tear by hand without using scissors. Our Easy tearing nylon film is designed with controlled MD-direction ductility, which enables straight-line tearing across the sachet. This is the perfect Easy-Open Instant Noodle Sauce Packaging as it does not need a perforated or laser-cut line to function - the film "pulls" the tear in a straight line.
How does this film help in preventing splashing on opening?
We all have experienced a time when a sachet or pack of sauce "popped" or ripped away and spilt oil all over. As this is a Splatter-Free Sauce Packaging Solution, the linear tear reduces the force required to open the pack. A straight line tearing film for condiment packs ensures that the contents are released in a smooth and controlled manner, saving the consumer from messy hands.
Is the "tear easily" attribute going to cause the sachet to leak?
Absolutely not. This is where BOPA comes in. Although this is a linear tear BOPA film for sachets, it still offers the puncture resistance and tensile strength of Polyamide (PA). It will hold up during transportation and handling, but it will tear when the consumer wants it to.
Is this only for instant noodles?
NO! Even though it is the number one film for Easy-Open Instant Noodle Sauce Packaging, it is also perfect for soy sauce, ketchup, or salad dressings, etc. Even for non-food applications, it is a great straight line tearing film, for example, shampoo samples, hair dye, or even medical-use saline packets where a straight, clean tear is needed.
Will I have to alter my current lamination process to use TSA film?
The ability to "drive" is a key benefit of our TSA film. The film has enough mechanical strength to drive other films in a laminate structure to deliver an overall straight tear. This allows you to potentially reduce the complexity of your structure and lower material costs since you may not require specialised "tear-layer" additives or expensive laser perforation equipment.
Does it run on high-speed packaging lines?
Yes. We make this film on the fastest biaxially oriented equipment. The film is extremely stable and uniform so that it runs perfectly on high-speed vertical form fill and seal (VFFS) equipment. Whether you are making 100 or 1,000 sachets per minute, our Easy tearing nylon film will run without breaking or ballooning.
