Here are the benefits of using our TSA® (Linear Tear) film for sauce sachets: 

• Easy to tear with a clean edge: No more messy splatter from sauce sachets. 

• Does not require laser perforation or tear-off perforations to create a tear path: The film is the tear path. 

• Maintains the full puncture resistance and tensile strength of a Polyamide (PA) film: Packaged sauces and oils arrive at their destinations without leakage. 

• Eliminates tear-aid materials during the lamination process: An overall cost savings on material costs and laminating production.

Food-Related Applications

• Steam-in-bag frozen meals and vegetables;
• Microwaveable bags for marinated meats such as chicken, turkey or beef;

What is BOPA film? And why is this TSA® BOPA film "microwaveable"?

Biaxially Oriented Polyamide (Nylon). Known for its strength and heat resistance. Microwaveable refers to the fact that the film will not degrade when heated in the microwave. While most plastics will melt or have a funny smell when heated in the microwave, Biaxially Oriented Nylon will not; this film makes the "freezer-to-microwave" cooking process possible.

What about the "Easy Straight Tear" without scissors? 

The Biaxial Orientation process enables the film to be oriented in such a way that it will tear straight with little force, eliminating the need for "tear notches" or laser scoring, for a clean tear, critical for the safety and convenience of the consumer.

Does it work with fatty or acidic foods?

Yes. BOPA (Biaxially Oriented Nylon) has high chemical resistance. It is an excellent barrier for oils, fats and acidic foods that will prevent the packaging from spoiling or transferring tastes while heated.

Can the film be used for "steam-in-bag" vegetable products?

Yes. The film is perfect for steam venting. It can withstand the pressure to steam the food properly, and the easy-open feature enables the consumer to release the hot steam safely after the cooking process is finished.

Does this BOPA film increase the shelf life of the food?

 Yes. BOPA has excellent oxygen barrier properties. It protects the food by preventing the entry of oxygen into the package, thus preserving the freshness, flavour, and colour of the food for a longer time than conventional PE films.

Does the film hold up for bone-in products?

 Yes. Biaxial Orientation can dramatically improve the mechanical strength of the nylon, giving the film excellent puncture- and abrasion-resistance for heavier or sharper-edged products such as ribs or frozen fish.

What other uses does the film have?

Besides food, the film is perfect for sterilisation pouches in the medical industry. Since the film has a high temperature tolerance, it is used for packaging instruments that need to be sterilised in an autoclave or other high-temperature sterilisation process.

Will the film cloud or become opaque if heated?

No. Our BOPA film is engineered to remain clear and transparent even after exposure to high heat, ensuring the food remains visible and appealing to the consumer as it is cooked.
