Is it PET plastic film?
A: No, it is not PET (Polyethene Terephthalate), this is a BOPA (Biaxially Oriented Polyamide) or Nylon film. Our PA film has higher Puncture Resistance (10N) and superior heat resistance, and it is used for Retort Grade Straight Tear BOPA for Pet Food.
How does "Straight Tear" technology apply to pet food sachets?
A: Our TSA® film has linear tear characteristics in the MD direction. This Easy-Open PA Pet Food Sachet Material can be laminated with other materials, such as PE, CPP, or Al foil. Upon lamination, the TSA film will "drive" the whole composite to tear in a straight line, offering a Splatter-Free Sauce Packaging Solution for pet broths and gravies.
Is it possible to sterilise wet pet food in pouches made of this material?
A: Yes, we have versions such as TSAr® 15μm that can be sterilised in a retort at 121°C, called Retort Grade Straight Tear BOPA for Pet Food. This material withstands heat and cooking, and the pouch can still be easily opened after sterilisation.
Will the straight tear affect the strength of the bag?
A: No. Although it's an Easy-Open PA Pet Food Sachet Material, its tensile strength and elongation are still very good. Linear Tear BOPA for Pet Food Packaging only tears from the edge, which will not be broken in the regular logistics transportation process.
Will I have to alter my current lamination process to use TSA film?
The ability to "drive" is a key benefit of our TSA film. The film has enough mechanical strength to drive other films in a laminate structure to deliver an overall straight tear. This allows you to potentially reduce the complexity of your structure and lower material costs since you may not require specialised "tear-layer" additives or expensive laser perforation equipment.
Does it run on high-speed packaging lines?
Yes. We make this film on the fastest biaxially oriented equipment. The film is extremely stable and uniform so that it runs perfectly on high-speed vertical form fill and seal (VFFS) equipment. Whether you are making 100 or 1,000 sachets per minute, our Easy tearing nylon film will run without breaking or ballooning.
