Strength of Vision and “Gentle” Leadership
I look at our industry from a different angle today as we celebrate International Women's Day. The term "barriers" and "strengths" of high-performance films mean something different to me as a female leader in this space — protection and the ability to safeguard what matters most and allow it to flourish.
For years, our company has believed that the best innovations come from a sense of caring — whether our manufacturing facilities in China, or our growing presence in Indonesia, our mission is to offer the world packaging that does not simply contain products, but also honours them. Today, I am honoured to highlight two of our products, which reflect this philosophy — BOPLA and BOPA EHA.
Protecting the Fragile: BOPLA as a Protective and Caring Steward
Flowers are more than a commodity; they symbolise the thought and effort of someone showing their love and appreciation. However, the floral industry has historically been faced with the contradiction of packaging the natural beauty of flowers in a permanent plastic waste material. As a company committed to the well-being of the earth, we recognised there had to be another solution.
Our BOPLA (compostable flower wrap) reflects our "caring" aspect. BOPLA is a plant-based film used for gift wrapping for flowers. It provides the necessary stiffness to serve as a protective shell, thus protecting the flowers from being crushed during their journey. More importantly, BOPLA is a breathable film, allowing the blooms to breathe and thrive, extending their life. When the flowers are no longer needed, this biodegradable film returns to the earth, leaving only memories behind.
Protecting the Bold: BOPA EHA and the Resiliency of Strength
At the other end of our product line is a very different form of strength. Premium coffee is bold, rich and complex in its own right. However, premium coffee is fragile in its own way and requires a barrier that is unyielding. That is where our BOPA ultra-high barrier film (Model EHA) demonstrates its capabilities.
As a company, we developed the EHA model to be the "strong" protector. The EHA model is an oxygen barrier nylon film that was specifically engineered for high-performance applications. Specifically, it protects the volatile aromas of speciality coffee and prevents oxygen from entering the package, thereby preventing staleness. It represents what we can accomplish by focusing on "invisible strength," providing a protective shield that will enable the last cup of coffee to taste as good as the first.
Sustainable Innovation and Company Culture
We do not simply manufacture film; we build a vision of a future with sustainability and environmental protection. This is an idea that is important to me personally and is at the core of our company's DNA. By providing both sustainable options, such as BOPLA and shelf-life-extending technology options, such as EHA, we enable our global customers to achieve their green goals while providing world-class products.
Our investment in 15 new production lines in Indonesia is more than a simple increase in production capacity; it is a statement of our continued commitment to sustainable innovation. We are creating a global supply chain that is as resilient and forward-looking as the women we honour today.

To the Women Who Create and Protect
Thank you to the women working in our R&D departments, in our factories and in the companies we partner with around the world. Your imagination inspires us to develop films that are stronger, clearer and more environmentally friendly. Your leadership reminds us that protection is a leadership action.
On behalf of everyone at Changsu, we wish you a beautiful day filled with the same strength and beauty you bring to the world every day. Together, let us continue to innovate, protect and grow.
Happy International Women's Day! 🌸🥂💪
